"The End of Driving: Mike and Maaike introduce the Autonomobile"
Are autonomous cars the wave of the future? San Francisco based designers, Mike and Maaike have designed a car that will let you take back your morning commute. Core77 featured their "autonomobile" design in July. Although Mike and Maaike have yet to create a fully functioning "ATNMBL", their design could be a glimpse into the future. The designers were inspired to create this autonomous car because of the economic downturn, the loss of the American car industry, as well as a heightened awareness on oil dependency and global warming. Mike and Maaike strove to create a car for living, inspired by architecture. The ATMBL is a space for living not driving.
